Assessment

Every Journey Begins With A Map

Assessment is the key to effective instruction. Without gathering information about what a student can do and planning accordingly, time is wasted on material that students already know or on skills that are too advanced.

Each student is first assessed to obtain a clear picture of their development in terms of phonological awareness, auditory discrimination, letter names and sounds, decoding/reading, encoding/spelling, listening comprehension, reading comprehension, and writing. Results are provided to parents for each testing measure to give them a clear picture of where their child's skills are and the goals they need to meet to be a successful reader.

Assessments can be completed as a stand alone service to gain a clear understanding of a child's current skill level.
